I decided to help create change by understanding social reality in 1995, the rest is history.

My three lifelong passions are understanding social reality, knowing the mind, and irreverance. A decade as an applied economist in the US and Tanzania left me with the question of why the hold of consumer-capitalist ideology is so strong. So I did PhD in Cognitive Science and studied the relationship between emotion and thought. Along the way I found out that contemplation was the best way to understand the mind and be free.

My first book, on the collective shadows that result from Enlightenment thought takes all that and tries to make a humble contribution halting civilisational collapse. The Climate Majority Project is a more practical effort.
